Online shopping for shoes can be really hard, but after getting this shoe and my daughter loving it, I am very glad I did. This brand is expensive (to me), but it is definitely reflected in the quality. My daughter has long, skinny feet, so these are a little wide for her, and there is some extra space in the toe since I ordered a size up.

The actual measurements of the insole of this shoe (as closely as I could measure) is 8 1/4". I got a blank piece of paper and traced my kids' feet, then measured the longest toe to the heel. Typically shoes should give about 1/2" of room. I hope this helps!

I got Keens Newports for my boys and their measurements are:

size 12M Toddler/little kid: 6 1/2" long and 3 1/8" wide at the ball of the foot

size 2M little kid: 8 1/4" long and 3 1/2" wide at the ball of the foot

These are measurements for the actual space for where the foot is in the shoe.

  3. My girls wear these every summer (ages 7 and 4). Preschools and schools tend to prefer close-toed shoes on playgrounds and this fits the bill while offering sandal-like breeziness. My girls call them their "sneak-sandals" and wear them all summer long. They are WELL WORTH the money.

  4. My almost-eight-year-old is not easy to buy shoes for. She has a long-standing history with a LOT of shoes that she just despises. (There really was a pair that she called "hateful shoes".) She LOVES these shoes. She actually put them on an declared, "I LOVE them!" (A first.) The fit is great, they don't pinch or bother her AT ALL. Easy on and off. This may be her first pair of "loving shoes". Highly recommended. (I've read some places that they run big, but in our case they were completely true-to-size.)

  5. These shoes were perfect for my 6 year old daughter as she attended camp this summer. They are very durable, comfortable and easy for her to get on and off. They fit well on her wide feet. Also, she likes the fact that they are similar to my own Keens. I liked the wide range of color choices.

  6. Bought for my trip to Costa Rica, wore them hiking, zip lining, city touring. Great fit and very comfortable, I wear a woman's 8 but a big kid 6m fits perfect. I now wear them to work and I'm on my feet all day. Love this shoe

  7. My 8-year-od wanted a shoe she could run around in, unhindered, but that wasn't closed in and "hot." She has barely taken these off since she received them in the mail. I am sure there are more in our immediate future, as her feet keep growing ....

  8. My girls (of all ages) love these shoes. They are light-weight and comfortable and easy to get on and off. They're great for swimming, camping, hiking, and running around on the grass! I have a pair that I took on a cruise to the Bahamas and they were great for all my water fun, although they did get sand in them and became uncomfortable, but then they washed up easily and were great for walking back to the ship! My daughter loves them for outings to the park and wearing around the house all day. Since her back surgery left her with one foot that sweats profusely and one that doesn't sweat at all, she loves the fact that her feet don't stink anymore!
